In order to make sure our space is welcoming and accessible to as much of the community as possible, we’re requiring masks to be worn at the dance.
The dance hall is on the second floor, up ~1.5 flights of stairs. There is no elevator to this part of the facility. The dance hall has plenty of seats and gender-inclusive restrooms. Please reach out if we can help with accessibility needs.
This is a space for everyone to feel welcome and loved! We oppose racism, sexism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, or any other form of discrimination. If someone is violating your boundaries or harassing you, please speak to an organizer. If you feel something, say something, and we will take action to address it.
The Grand Ol’ Aubrey Band plays for us this evening. Special guest Christine Merryman calls. Grand Ol’ Aubry is Aubrey Smith (fiddle), Kathy Hirsh (guitar), Eric Zorn (fiddle), and Lezlee Crawford (bass).
We’ll be dancing in the 4th floor ballroom.

Chicagoland English Country Dance
Join us for Chicagoland West English Country Dance (ECD) from 2–5 p.m. at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center. English Country Dance is social and pattern-based, with a caller guiding each dance—similar to Contra and barn dancing. No partner or experience is needed; all figures are walked through before each dance.
We recommend bringing your own water bottle. If you bring snacks to share, we suggest they be bite-sized and easy to eat neatly.
For more information, please see our website.
Admission:
To help cover the cost of the hall rental, the suggested donation is $5 per person. If we have live music, we may request $10 per person.
Getting There:
Building Entrance:
The entrance to the gymnasium is at the back of the building. From the front, walk up the left side past the dumpsters to find the double doors. Enter through those doors and go up one flight of stairs, then turn left. An elevator is available for those with accessibility needs.
Parking Information:
You can park in the parking garage on the south side of the facility. (The village enforces parking regulations strictly, so please park in approved spaces.) Use the rear entrance between the parking garage and the garbage dumpsters.
Metra:
The Glen Ellyn Metra stop is a short 5-minute walk from the venue. Currently, a Sunday train (Union Pacific West line) departs Ogilvie at 12:40 p.m. and arrives at 1:25 p.m. Return trains depart at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
